Throughout my life I have found myself using photography as a sense of security, wishing to document the situations and circumstances going on around me as proof that I am alive and that my pesonal experiences are valid. The irony in this is that in the act of documenting, I am often lingering on the outskirts of the life being lived around me, concerned primarily with capturing the moments rather than allowing myself to be one hundred percent part of them.

My images often catch the isolation that exists between the action, and I am constantly seeking out the humanity and intimacy that is highlighted by that isolation. It is not always beautiful in the conventional sense, but it is always honest.
